SimplyDiscus.com Mission Statement

SimplyDiscus was created by hobbyists, for hobbyists. The purpose of the website is a simple one: to create an open forum to allow the exchange of information between discus keepers worldwide. It is our goal to provide hobbyists with the necessary information to successfully maintain healthy, happy discus.

What started as a small forum of close friends has grown into an international community of discus enthusiasts. Our site is made up of members from countless cultures, age groups, and backgrounds, and also includes discus breeders and sellers from around the globe. This can and does lead to disagreements, misunderstandings, and disputes. For this reason, our forum is moderated to maintain a civil, friendly environment.

SimplyDiscus encourages the exchange of opinions, thoughts, suggestions, and experiences from its members, though we do ask that you handle all problems with other members and/or the moderators through e-mail or instant messaging via the message board. We also ask that you use common courtesy when writing replies and refrain from attacking or insulting other members. Members will greatly benefit from constructive criticism that is rational and polite.

Posted below is a full copy of the Registration Agreement for our site. We ask that you follow these guidelines when posting messages here. If we feel that posts are questionable or inappropriate, actions will be taken in order to either modify them or remove them.

Remember, this website is meant to be a fun and friendly place. We hope that you will find our website useful and look forward to contributions by our members.

All users registered to SimplyDiscus.com agreed to these terms during the registration process. If you have a question or concern regarding this agreement, please e-mail us.

You agree, through your use of this forum, that you will not post any material which is false, defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or otherwise in violation of ANY law. This is not only humorous, but legal actions can be taken against you. You also agree not to post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or you have consent from the owner of the copyrighted material. Spam, flooding, advertisements, chain letters, pyramid schemes, and solicitations are also inappropriate to this forum.

Note that it is impossible for us to confirm the validity of posts on this forum. Please remember that we do not actively monitor the posted messages and are not responsible for their content. We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness or usefulness of any information presented. The messages express the views of the author, not necessarily the views of this forum. Anyone who feels that a posted message is objectionable is encouraged to notify an administrator of this forum immediately. We have the rights to remove objectionable content, within a reasonable time frame, if we determine that removal is necessary. This is a manual process, however, so please realize that we may not be able to remove or edit particular messages immediately. This policy goes for member profile information as well.

This site has a zero tolerance policy for anything posted in a negative fashion about other members, fish breeders, wholesalers, or suppliers. We feel this is the fairest policy possible to all parties. Positive comments are welcome. This is called a Positive Feedback System. If someone asks for experiences with certain breeders and you have had a negative one, simply state that it was a negative experience and ask  those interested to e-mail you for details. In no way is this site  to be involved in buyer/seller disputes. Posts of this nature will be removed at the discretion of the owners or their agents.

You remain solely responsible for the content of your messages, and you agree to indemnify and hold harmless this forum, and any related websites to this forum. We at this forum also reserve the right to reveal your identity (or any information we have about you) in the event of a complaint or legal action arising from any information posted by you.

You have the ability, as you register, to choose your username. We advise that you keep the name appropriate. With this user account you are about to register, you agree to never give your password out to another member, for your protection and for validity reasons. You also agree to NEVER use another member's account to post messages or browse this forum.

After you register and log into this forum, you can fill out a detailed profile. It is your responsibility to present clean and accurate information. Any information we deem inaccurate or vulgar will be removed.
